TEDI-London degree awarded professional accreditation
The Engineering & Design Institute London (TEDI-London) has received accreditation from the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED) for its Bachelors of Engineering (honours) in Global Design Engineering.
This recognition is a significant milestone for TEDI-London as a new institute, and underscores our dedication to providing the highest quality engineering education.
Accreditation was awarded following a rigorous review process by the iED, ensuring our programme has the resources, credentials and commitment needed to provide students with future-focused outcomes.
Professor Lisa Brodie, Executive Dean of TEDI-London says “We are beyond thrilled with the outcome of the iED’s accreditation process which reflects our dedication to providing students with exemplary engineering education that prepares them for the future workplace. Achieving full accreditation for our Global Design Engineering BEng is a testament to the expertise of our academic staff and their unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional education – made all the more impressive by having a totally new engineering degree centred on project-based learning.”
Our BEng has been accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council. Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the standards set by the Engineering Council in the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC). An accredited degree will provide students with some or all of the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for eventual registration as an Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng). Some employers recruit preferentially from accredited degrees, and an accredited degree is likely to be recognised by other countries that are signatories to international accords.
This accreditation further validates TEDI-London’s mark of quality as London’s newest specialist provider of design engineering degrees.
It will also provide students with professional body membership throughout their studies to enhance their development on the road to becoming a Chartered Engineer.
