At TEDI-London we will award bursaries to students if they come from a low-income family or if they are a care leaver. This can help students who may face more barriers to attending full-time education, enabling them to access a degree at TEDI-London.
The Student Hub can support students experiencing financial difficulties. We can check that you are receiving all the funding and benefits you are entitled to. We can also help you with budgeting and to understand your expenditures.
Please note that you will only receive one bursary, even if you are eligible for more than one.
If your household income is less than £35,000 a year, and you meet the eligibility criteria outlined below, you will automatically be awarded a bursary of up to £2,000 for every year of your course. This is not a loan: it is a gift from TEDI-London that does not have to be repaid and you can use the money for anything you want.
To be awarded a TEDI-London Access Bursary, you must meet all the following eligibility criteria:
The Bursary amount will be determined on your final assessed household income:
Assessed household income | TEDI-London Access Bursary amount |
Less than £20,000 | £2,000 |
£20,000 – £24,999 | £1,500 |
£25,000 – £29,999 | £1,000 |
£30,000 – £34,999 | £500 |
Payments are made directly into your bank account in two equal instalments on 1st December and 1st March.
You will be asked to declare any updates to your final assessed household income on an annual basis. If your final assessed household income is in a different category to the one which you were originally assessed as, your Bursary amount will be adjusted up or down accordingly.
Students who were not eligible for a Bursary upon registration may also use this process to be assessed for a TEDI-London Bursary.
If you have been in full-time care for three months or longer at any time over the last five years, you will automatically be awarded a TEDI-London Care Leaver Bursary of £2,000 per year. This is not a loan: it is a gift from TEDI-London that does not have to be repaid and you can use the money for anything you want.
