Dr Sam Fishlock is an Associate Professor at TEDI-London. He was previously a Lecturer at the University of Ulster, has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Exeter and a PhD from the University of Southampton.
Sam first worked as a consultant materials engineer, before starting academic research designing and making carbon microsystems. During his PhD, he spent two years at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, Singapore, researching the separation of gases using ultra-thin membranes. He continued research at the University of Ulster, using low-cost advanced materials for biosensors and energy systems.
He strongly believes that engineering is an exciting, challenging and, fun career, and that teaching engineers is an honour. Sam understands that working in diverse and global teams, where we can be ourselves and learn from each other, is a key to progress towards a brighter future.
