Assistant Professor
Dr Mojtaba Farahi

Mojtaba completed his Ph.D. studies at Monash University, Australia, in 2018. In 2021, he was awarded the Marie Curie Fellowship granted by the European Commission. In 2022 he moved to London to serve as a Marie-Curie Research Fellow at University College London (UCL), where he conducted integrated design, numerical and experimental research along with lecturing.
Mojtaba’s research expertise covers the areas of developing innovative structural solutions, performance-based design, seismic response and risk evaluation, resilience and robustness of structural systems against extreme loading scenarios. He also has extensive experience as a structural engineer. He was employed by Aurecon and KBR, two global engineering firms in Australia between 2018 to 2022. This opportunity allowed him to gain knowledge and proficiency in cutting-edge design and construction techniques while working on multidisciplinary mega-projects.
