Dr Kay is the Associate Dean of Academic Engagement and Partnership at TEDI-London. He joined from the University of the West of England (UWE) where he held roles such as Deputy Head of Department and Associate Director for Energy Technologies, and had responsibility for managing around 100 academic staff and over 1,500 students.
He is passionate about engineering pedagogy, notably learning technology, and developing industry-aligned curricula. He has successfully led accreditation processes for engineering programmes.
Development of his teaching practices, including problem-based learning, formed the basis of his successful application to Senior Fellow of the HEA (SFHEA). He also contributed to the design of a new engineering building to accommodate the new engineering programmes.
Dr Kay also has a track record of industrial research and working in a FTSE 100 engineering company. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and supports engineers working towards their professional registration.
Peter was drawn to TEDI-London and the ethos of “Doing things differently”, he is excited to be expanding the curriculum portfolio and developing innovative pedagogy to contribute to the institute’s success.
