Professor Mike Sutcliffe joins as Deputy Dean

TEDI-London is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Mike Sutcliffe to the role of Deputy Dean.

Mike is an experienced senior university leader with a strong track record of achievement in leadership, management, education, research and collaborative partnerships, gained from working in institutions ranging from Russell Group to modern universities. He has been at the forefront of engineering education developments in the UK and abroad, delivering significant improvements in student experience and employability, and leading culture change initiatives.

As a highly regarded chemical engineer with an excellent track record in teaching innovation and research, Mike has also been one of the UK’s leaders in our professional bodies. He has been a member of several national boards including the Engineering Professors’ Council Board, where he chairs the Engineering Education, Employability and Skills Committee, and the Institution of Chemical Engineers UK Board, where he was the founding chair of Heads of Chemical Engineering UK.

Mike is a sought-after consultant and speaker at companies, universities and international conferences. He has many awards and achievements, including significantly, The Royal Society of Chemistry Rita and John Cornforth Award – for promoting and rewarding scientists working in collaborative teams. His extensive experience in culture change, partnering with industry, curriculum reform and innovation will help us at TEDI-London realise our ambitious goals.

Professor Sutcliffe will take up his role heading the academic activities at TEDI-London on 3rd February 2020.
